GET THE 'KEYS' TO YOUR NEW HOME
Two stylish new show homes on the Sutton Meadows development will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Karen Woods and local residents Diane and Mark Key, who have recently moved into one of the new homes on the site.
The £27m development is being delivered by Gateway, Hull's neighbourhood regeneration agency in partnership with Rosa Homes and Southdale. The scheme is currently in its third phase and comprises over 180 homes, 106 of which are already completed or underway. Work on the next 55 homes is expected to start in March following a successful bid for £2.9m from the Government's Kickstart fund.
Gateway is in the process of demolishing 260 sub-standard 'Caspon' properties to the east of Mitcham Road to make way for the new, energy efficient homes. Independent reports have shown that the 'Caspon' properties are structurally problematic and would be very expensive in the long term to put right. Residents also complain that they are very expensive to heat due to the under floor heating.
The three bedroom Sprite and the four bedroom Mystic homes will be opened for the public to view on 6 March and are spread across three floors and feature large kitchen/dining rooms, living rooms, spacious bedrooms with an en-suite to the master bedroom, plus an integral garage, perfect for family life.
Diane and Mark Key have recently moved into one of the new homes from a 'Caspon' and couldn't be happier.
Diane said "Our old house was very expensive to heat, particularly in the winter. We are thrilled to be in our new home. It's in a lovely location overlooking the golf course and is much closer to our son's school. It's also got four bedrooms, which means the boys can each have their own room."
Diane continues: "The regeneration of the area is a great thing and will lead to new people moving into the area, but in brand new houses."

The opening of the show homes is an opportunity for people to come and have a look round the properties and to find out more about the area."
Homes on the site also benefit from a range of energy saving features including high insulation levels, are built from sustainable timber, have 'A' rated energy efficient appliances and have achieved the 'eco homes' mark of very good. Prices start from £107,500.
