This page outlines the support available to people affected by Gateway’s plans to improve Hull’s housing market and create more great places to live in the city.

A package of support is available once Gateway and Hull City Council have confirmed that they wish to buy your home as part of the redevelopment of the area. The package includes financial and practical assistance to help you find and move to another home of your choice.

As a landlord, you will be offered:

  • the market value of your property, as agreed by as agreed between your own independent surveyor and a surveyor working on behalf of Hull City Council.
  • basic loss payment of 7.5% of the value, providing you have owned the property for one year or more.
  • Our local regeneration team will work with you to find your tenants a suitable alternative home and will help to co-ordinate the dates for them leaving and the completion of your sale. In some circumstances, we can acquire the property with the tenant in situ.
